Keto Steak-Frites

If you’re anything like me, you miss fries on a keto diet. I’ve tried everything, jicama fries, avocado fries, zucchini fries — you name it. But this is hands down the best recipe by Heavenly Fan. So I paired it with a ribeye and some chimichurri, and recreated one of my favorite meals, Steak-Frites!

  1. Start making your “dough” for your fries. Mix together the almond flour, xanthan gum, and hot water. Mix together to create a dough and put into saran wrap and set aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Start on your garlic aioli. Press the 3 garlic cloves in a garlic press and mix together with mayo, lemon juice and season with salt and pepper. Set aside (I chill it in the fridge until ready to eat).
  3. Season your steak (ribeye or any cut you prefer) with salt and pepper and sear on a pan on high, and then cook to your preferred doneness. When done, remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Make your chimichurri sauce by putting all the ingredients and herbs into a food processor. Pulse until blended pouring in the oil a little at a time. Season to taste. Set aside. (I keep in a jar in the fridge to serve on all my meats!)
  5. Get back to your fries! Roll out the fries (about a 1/2 and inch to 1/4 inch thick depending on how you like fries) and shallow fry in oil (I used avocado oil) until golden brown. Remove from oil and put on paper towel, season with salt.
  6. Serve! Plate your steak with 2 tbsp chimichurri on top, serve with fries and a side of garlic aoili! Enjoy!
